"Bubba" Ferguson Robinson
GILMER - Services for Bubba Ferguson Robinson, 76, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Chapel with Brother J.C. Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Gilmer City Cemetery.
Mr. Robinson, a Baptist, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, in Longview. Born Aug. 23, 1922, in Decatur, Ga., he had served in the U.S. Army and was a retired building subcontractor and floor mechanic.
Mr. Robinson is survived by a daughter, Patsy Sue Campbell, and a son-in-law, Jeffery Potter, both of Longview, and two sisters, Hazel Jones of Sulphur Springs and Isabell Hopkins of Gilmer.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today, Dec. 3, at the funeral home.

his daughter , Patsy Sue Robinson, birth information lists her mother as Eleanor June Jarvol and father as Miriam Ferguson Robinson.
Ferguson's marriage certificate list 1st wife as Mrs. Eleanor June Jarboe married on 26 Aug. 1944 in Fort Bend county, Texas.

Sometime after the death of his wife, Eleanor, in 1967 , he met Mrs. Leona (nee Kelly) Ryder who had became a widow in 1966 in Baldwinsville, NY. Bubba and Leona were married (date unknown as unable to find marriage information) before 1977.

Note: - Bubba's father was born in Georgia along with several of his Uncles. Bubba and all his siblings were born in Texas. Ferguson Robinson's obituary states he was born in Georgia is incorrect - see attached copy of his birth certificate.

Bubba married Mrs. Leona "Lee" (nee Kelly) Ryder sometime between 1967 & 1976.
Leona was from Baldwinsville, NY and they had resided in Springhill, Texas.

siblings: Gladys Irene Collier (1907-1992) , Hazel Jones (1909-2006), Miss Elsie Ruth (1912-1996), Eula Isabell Hopkins (1920- 2002), Miss Pauline (1914-1992), and James D. Jr. (1918-1987).

City Native Dies at 41 - Mrs. Eleanor June Smith Robinson, 41, wife of Ferguson Robinson, Baldwinsville, a native of Watertown, died Monday at the home of her daughter in Baldwinsville. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Baldwinsville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Surviving besides her husband are her daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Patsy Sue) Aller, Baldwinsville; three sisters, Mrs. Samuel J. (Helena M.) Root and Mrs. Harold R. (Ethel P. Dasno), Watertown; Mrs. Gilbert A. (Verna M.) Benway, Syracuse, and a brother Daniel H. Smith, Dexter. A sister, Mamie, died in infancy, and another sister Mrs. William H. (Lillian Irene) Dasno, Watertown, died Jan. 9, 1967 in the House of the Good Samaritan, at the age of 47. Mrs. Robinson was born in Watertown, April 30, 1925, a daughter of Ira H. and Nellie Maitland Smith. She attended schools and lived here until 1940. She was working in Texas when she met her husband. They were married Aug. 26, 1943, in Richmond Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson had lived in various cities in Texas and in the Syracuse section alternately during their married life. Mrs. Robinson had worked the past five years for B. G. Sulzle's in Syracuse.

Mr. & Mrs. Ferguson Robinson, 109 Rosewood St. Syracuse, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Patsy Sue Robinson to Lawrence M. Aller of Phoenix Star Route, Little Utica. A January wedding is planned.
Miss Robinson is a 1962 graduate of North high school, Syracuse. She is employed by the New York Telephone Co.
Aller is an alumnus of Baldwinsville Academy and Central school. He is employed by O’Conner- Mosher & Co. Inc.
[ It was a business that supplied food goods to small stores, also developed its own stores called "Silver Star Stores". Started around 1931/32 in Fayetteville, then expanded to Syracuse, Marcellus and other areas. It appeared to gone out of business in 1974.]
- 109 Rosewood St. is located on the city of Syracuse northside. The North High School was located on Pond St. but was closed in 1964 and demolished in 1965. - From photos it appeared to have been a large school nearly the size of Grant Middle School that was also once a High School located on Grant Blvd. near Court St. - Mr. Lawrence Matson Aller was called into service in 1967 during Vietnam and attended Army advanced combat training - not knowing if he was ever deployed. Apparently he wanted to own his of grocery store, he had obtained a license to sell liquor. My only guess is that his dream costed him his marriage some years later as his wife Patsy had remarried.
