Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon for James Powers, husband of Mary E. Powers, from his late home on Concord Avenue. Rev. Samuel B. Groff officiated. Mr. Powers died on Wednesday after a lingering illness. The pallbearers included: William Taylor, Charles Harris, William Mewha and John Mewha. Interment was in River Cemetery, at Penns Grove, N.J.
Besides his widow, the deceased is survived by the following children: Mrs. Ethel Seiverd and Miss Anna Powers of Atlantic City; Mrs. Edmund Cody, of Camden, N.J., Mrs. John Mewha, of Chester; Clifford Powers, of Coatsville, and John Powers, of Salem, N.J.
Mrs. Joseph Powell and son George, of Beth Ayres, who attended the funeral of James Powers, remained with relatives in the borough the week-end.
