Francis Justice Farley was the daughter of Claiborne and Francis Stanley Justice. Francis was named after her mother who also spelled her name Francis, instead of Frances. Her name is also spelled Francis on her WV Death Certificate. Francis' death certificate shows she was buried in the Alley Cemetery. The Alley Cemetery was first called the Farley Cemetery as the farm property and the cemetery were previously owned by Thomas Farley and his wife Nancy Ann Maynard Farley, and they are buried in this cemetery along with many other Farley family members. Thomas and Nancy's youngest daughter Lydia Farley married Paul Z. Alley on 17 Aug 1882 in Logan County, WV, and the land was later deeded to them by Thomas and Nancy Ann Farley. The property then became known to younger generations as the Alley farm and the cemetery became known as the Alley Cemetery. This property was in Logan County until 1895 when this part of Logan County became Mingo County. Francis and Henry are buried together in the Farley and Alley Family Cemetery, but no one alive today knows the exact location in the cemetery. There are several graves marked with a metal funeral home markers that are now rusted and not readable and many graves are marked by rocks and sandstone markers that are not readable.
