Mrs. Baker was born Sept. 18, 1919 in Angelina County, Texas, the youngest of 9 children of Marion Edgar Fann and Sara Elizabeth (Cryer) Fann. She passed away on Jan.20, 2008.

She married John Olice Baker on Sept 26, 1940. Together, they enjoyed 50 years of marriage. John and Dorothy owned and operated several restaurants and cafeterias during their marriage, with the last one being Chestnut Village in, Lufkin, Texas. Dorothy was always by her husband's side during their working years, and together they were a great team. With the birth of the first grandchild, Dorothy became lovingly known as "Meme", the name she went by until her death.

Daughter, Elizabeth Schlenhamer and her husband, Jerry
Six grandchildren; 1 step-granddaughter; 9 great-grandchildren; and several step-great and great-greatgrandchildren,nieces and nephews.
