Married Peter Balmer in 1879 in Switzerland before emigrating to America settling first in Ohio, then moving to Kentucky abt. 1890/91; then to Indiana after 1910. Elizabeth & Peter had at least seven children: Frederick "Fred" (Lida Young)who died in 1916 when a compressed air tank exploded at the East Hamilton Foundry & Machine Tool Company; Sophia "Sophie" Balmer (Ernst Gustav) Yentsch; Matilda "Tillie" Balmer (William Frank) Kamber; & Charles H. (Emma Sheidegger) were born in or near Cincinnati, Ohio. Their last three children Albert (Elsie Marie Perry); Ida Balmer (Victor Hugo) Egly; & Frieda Balmer (Lester) Sheets; were born in Stanford, Lincoln County, Kentucky.
