She was born July 9, 1930 in Shelley to Keith and Blanche Christensen. She grew up on a farm near the Goshen foothills where she enjoyed working on the farm with her dad and learning to sew with her mom. She graduated as Valedictorian from Firth High School.
On November 5, 1948 Phyllis married Gerald Hansen in Shelley.
She learned cosmetology from her sister, Elaine and would occasionally provide those services around the town site. After raising her children she began work at Idaho Supreme Inc. where she retired in 1975. She then began running an excavation business with her husband.
She enjoyed crafts and teaching her grandchildren to crochet. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed working outside in her flower gardens where she would place the ceramic animals she painted. She enjoyed snowmobiling and participated in snowmobile racing.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Gerald of Goshen; son, Keith (Diane) Hansen of Blackfoot; three daughters, Debra Hansen of Goshen; Jeanet (Terry) Anderson of Idaho Falls; Sandra (Jim) Gaydusek of Shelley; siblings Lynn (Marcia) Christensen and Elaine (Daren) Nelson, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Sheila, sister, Marcia Christensen, and brother, Gary (Rody) Christensen.
