Death of Adolph Antoine - Belgium Pioneer Goes to his Reward After a Lingering Illness - At his home at Belgium Station last Friday occurred the death of Mr. Adolph Antoine, a highly respected citizen of that community. He was born in Hallangy, Belgium and came to this country when an infant. At the age of twenty-six years on May 4th 1880 he was joined in marriage to Miss Katherine Welter, who preceded him in death on January 16, 1919. In early years, Mr. Antoine was engaged in the cheese making business and for many years conducted (blank) factory at Lake Church, he being recognized as one of the pioneer cheese makers having been in the business twenty-four years. When in later years his health began to fail he moved to Belgium Station where he conducted the Belgium Lumber and Coal Co, at which he continued until the last few years when he was confined to his house through illness. He is survived by seven children as follows: Mrs. P. W. Ernster at Milwaukee, Geo. Antoine of Milwaukee, Mrs. John Reding of Chicago, Mrs. Nic Pirrung, Mrs. Nic Mueller, Mrs. M. Demge and Frank Antoine of Belgium. The funeral was held at Lake Church on Monday with a Requiem High Mass at which Rev. Gersbach officiated. Interment was made at the St. Mary's cemetery. A great throng of relatives and friends attended the funeral and extended sympathy to the bereaved relatives. May he rest in peace. (Port Washington Pilot, Port Washington, Wisconsin, 15 Sep 1921)
