NICHOLAS EMERY DEAD
He Passed Away at the Early Hour This Morning
Nicholas Emery, whose approaching death was announced in yesterday's issue, died at 5:30 o'clock this morning. Deceased was born in Monroe, Maine, in 1829. He came to West Bay City twenty-five years ago, remaining here two years, and then went up the river to what is now Melbourne, where he worked for W.R. Burt for a time. He returned to West Bay City in 1873 and engaged with H.W. Sage & Co. as foreman of their mill, which position he has since held. He has been married twice and leaves a wife and two sons, Alderman James Emery, and Charles Emery. He has four brothers living, Hiram Emery of this city; Temple Emery of Bay City; John Emery of Minneapolis, Minn., and A.G. Emery of Marydale, Kansas. About eight years ago Mr. Emery built a handsome residence on the Midland road, just outside the city limits, where he has resided. He was a man who was universally respected by all who knew him and was especially popular with the men under his supervision. Funeral services will be held at the residence Monday afternoon . The remains will be taken East for interment.
