Mrs. Gladys Cobb Adams, 94, of Madisonville, KY died at 1:29 P.M. Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

Born March 5, 1909 in Slaughters, KY. She was the daughter of the late Jess Cobb and Sarah Jane Ramsey. She was also preceded in death by her husband Hazel Freeman Adams, two brothers, and two sisters.

Mrs. Adams was a housewife. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1933, and a former member Groves Chapel United Methodist Church of Slaughters. She was a former school teacher. She also worked with the White Sox baseball team in Hollywood, FL for two years.

She is survived by one son, Jess Freeman Adams of Madisonville; two sister, Robbie Cobb Clyburn and Sarah Leach both of Evansville, IN; three grandchildren, Sarah Ann Jackson, Mark Freeman Adams, and Kristen Joan Simms, and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 18, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and on Thursday after 9:00 A.M. until the service at the church.
