The Chico Enterprise, Monday Evening, September 28, 1931: "Death Summons F.D. Swearingen. Franklin Dorn Swearingen, 67, died yesterday at 1:50 p.m. at his home, 806 Normal avenue. Deceased was born near Chico and has lived here all his life.
"He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Litta Evans of Chico and a son, Kenneth Swearingen of Salinas, and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Spurgeon of Chico, Mrs. Ada Bradley of Guistine, Calif., and Mrs. Georgia Rhea of Newman, Calif.
"Funeral services will be tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Bicknell & Moore chapel with burial in the Chico cemetery."
