Anne-Marie Walters was born in Geneva Switzerland and her family left Switzerland for England at the outbreak of the Second World War.
Walters joined the WAAF in 1941 and she joined the French Section of the Special Operations Executive on 6th July 1943.
After training she was sent to France - to be parachuted in but had to return to England because of bad weather over the drop zone. Upon her return to England the plane crash landed because of bad weather conditions.
During January 1944- Walters was parachuted into France to join the Wheelwright network as a courier - she carried out very effective work with this network and was promoted to Section Officer in May 1944. She later resigned her commission and left S.O.E.at the same time, during November 1944.
After the war Walters did write a book..Moondrop To Gascony, which was about her war time activities and her experiences with S.O.E.
Walters lived in France and Spain and did translation & editorial work under her married name of..Anne-Marie Comert.
