WASHBURN — Henry F. Sampson, 95, Rt. 1, Washburn, died Thursday, July 8, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center, Ashland. He was born Feb. 15, 1904, in Washburn, the son of John and Marie (Olsen) Sampson. Henry was a lifelong area resident. On Feb. 1, 1934, he married June Tetzner in Washburn. He worked on the family farm and for DuPont for 25 years retiring in 1969. He is survived by his wife, June; one daughter, Diana Hildreth, Minneapolis, Minn.; four sons, Larry (Kathy) Sampson, Kenosha; Donald (Anna) Sampson, Minneapolis; Gene (Mary) Sampson, Portland, Ore.; and Mickey Sampson, Washburn; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gust and George; and two sisters, Hilma and Hilda. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Bratley Funeral Home, Washburn, with Fr Brennan Schmieg, O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Washburn. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, and continue one hour prior to the service on Monday, at the Bratley Funeral Home.
