Surgoinsville: Esmerejildo Alegria, age 78 of Surgoinsville, formerly of Aurora, IL, passed away, Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was a member of Ebenezer Assembly of God and was retired from Caterpillar in Oswego, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodrigo and Alejandra Rodriguez Alegria.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Noemi Alegria; daughters, Elvia Alegria of Surgoinsville, Alicia Poull and husband, Greg, Olga Carrio and husband, Luis both of Aurora, IL, Maribel Houston and husband, Mark of Surgoinsville, Noemi Lawson and husband, Jamie of Bulls Gap; sons, Rodrigo Alegria and wife, Melissa, Arturo Alegria both of Aurora, IL; grandchildren, Andrea Dawson, Andrew Alegria, Amanda Alegria, Adam Alegria, Evelyn Alegria, Kyle Poull, Ethan Lawson, Emily Lawson, Lucy Alegria, Lucas Alegria, Isabel Houston and Evan Houston; great-grandchildren, Deseree Dawson and Isacc Alegria; brother, Epiphano Alegria and wife, Carmen of Aurora, IL; several nieces and nephews.
