James A. Ourada was born on September 6, 1888 in New Prague, Minnesota, the son of John and Anna (Sloda) Ourada. His childhood and school days were spent in New Prague, Minnesota. Jim's occupation was a farmer and laborer.
Mr. Ourada moved to Alexandria in 1961 and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He has been a resident of the Knute Nelson home for the past few years. He died at the home on Janurary 12, 1980.
Survivors are his son H. Jack Ourada of Kemmerer, Wyoming, three grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one brother Charles of Boise, Idaho; several nieces and nephews.
A rosary was said on Wednesday, January 16, 1980 7 pm at the Alexandria Funeral Home, Funeral Mass was Thursday, January 17, 1980 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Arthur Hopps officiating. The soloist Isabelle Thompson was accompanied by Mary Kuhn.
Interment was at St Wenceslaus Cemetery, New Prague, Minnesota. Services directed by the Alexandria Funeral home.
