Mrs. Tobitha (sic) Rosswick
The funeral of Mrs. Tobitha Rosswick will be held in Trinity M. E. church, Monday, July 11th, at 2:30 p.m., the pastor W. W. Shank officiating. Services at the house at 2 p.m. The Woman's Relief Corps will assist in the services at the church.

Mrs. Rosswick passed away at 4:30 o'clock this morning, at the age of sixty one years, three months and fourteen days, having been born in Marietta, Ohio, March 25, 1837. Her maiden name was Cowie. In 1856, she married James Farmer, in 1861 they moved to Union county, Ill., journeying westward again in 1873, when they settled in Hall county. Mr. Farmer died in 1876. As a result of this marriage seven children were born, four of whom are still living: Curtis C. Farmer, of Berry, Pike county, Ill., Mrs. Retta Alford, of Cairo, Neb., and Hardin W. Farmer and Florence Farmer of this city.

In 1879 she was joined in marriage to Henry Rosswick, one son, George, being born to them. He is now assistant in the state department of the government building at the Trans-Mississippi exposition.

Mrs. Rosswick united with the Christian church when twenty years of age. She united with the Methodist church at Trinity, this city, two years ago.

Of this elect woman's virtues many rise to speak. she was a loving mother and wife, and proved herself to be of the heroic quality that made up the pioneer residents of this state. At the time of the last illness she was president of the Ladies Sewing Circle of the Trinity church and last year held the office of the president of the Woman's Relief Corps, discharging her duties with faithfulness and ability. Her death was caused by cancer of the stomach. During the three weeks that she was confined to her bed she manifested a Christian faith and fortitude that helped to comfort the anxious friends and family. Those who mourn are sustained by the sympathy of many friends and with the consciousness that she died triumphantly as she had lived well.

The pall bearers will be Geo. Dean, Dick Harrison, Wm. McLaughlin, Wm. Culbertson, W. Waters, E. Diehl.
