According to the book, Memorial Genealogy, and ecclesiastical history by Alfred Andrews, (1867) this is inscribed on his tombstone:

"Now I am dead and out of mind,
Upon this stone my name you'll
find,
And when my name you plainly see,
You can no less than think of me."

There were several "Noah Stanley's" in this family, with this one commonly called Deacon Noah Stanley. He served in that capacity at the First Church in New Britain from 1774 until his death in 1778.

Noah was a "British" Lieutenant during the French and Indian War. (1754-1763)

On 02 Nov 1749/50, Noah married Ruth Norton, daughter of Thomas Norton Jr, and Elizabeth nee Macon.
