James Leland Hughes,Sr., 59 of Lawrenceville, died Tues. Aug. 13, 1991. Funeral Sat. at Tim Stewart F. H. with Rev. Robert Duwall and Rev. Larry Wynn off. with burial in Gw. Memorial Park. A native of Prentiss Co., MS, Mr. Hughes was retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Machinist Mate and was the owner of a Roofing Co. Mr. Hughes was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Assoc., American Legion, VFW, Elks and Moose and the Eagles. Survived by wife, Marty Pfahi Hughes; sons, James L. Hughes,Jr. and Richard L. Hughes; daughters, Debra L. Haar and Pamela M. Roth; brother, Richard W. Hughes; sisters, Bertha Wigington, Marceiene Arnold, and Lucile Magellan; 9 grandchildren.
