CARRIE EVELYN PURDUE DIED SUNDAY AT RESIDENCE
Carrie Evelyn Purdue 74, Crawfordsville, died Sunday in her residence. Mrs. Purdue retired from the Indiana State Library as an accountant. She owned and operated Evelyn's Beauty Salon. She had a pilot's lisence and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and Boone County, Eastern Star.
She was born January 3, 1928, at Boone County, to Cecil and Betty Frazier Maddox. She married Roscoe E. Purdue on May 10, 1944, at Kirkland. He is deceased.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra K. Jackson, Crawfordsville, two brothers, Robert and Joe Maddox, a sister, Dorothy Lang, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Frank and Cecil Maddox and a sister, Hazel Benge, are deceased.
Funera Services are scheduled at 11 A. M. Thursday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Layton Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery, Jamestown. Friends may call 4-8 P. M. Wednesday in the Funeral Home.
