She was a wonderful and devoted mother and a proud, dedicated and patriotic military wife who loved her country.
Alice was a loving and loved member of The Towers community and immensely enjoyed living life with her family and friends. She was also an enthusiastic member of the Jazzette Dancers, and loved to entertain.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Col. (Ret.) Richard Edwin Fitzhugh of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Betti McCready of Fairhope, Alabama; son, Col. (Ret.) Richard E. Fitzhugh, Jr. of O'Fallon, Illinois; grandchildren: Jill Grace, Amy Davidov and Carrie Fitzhugh; great grandchildren: Wesley Fitz, Emma, Mac, Lucy and Cooper; and sister: Tarquita Strachan.
She touched everyone who knew her; she will be deeply missed.
