Roger Hewson was born on November 4, 1929 in Dickinson to Earl and Daisy (Remington) Hewson. On July 6, 1955, he married Maggie Heinzman at St. Bernard's in Belfield. They farmed in Slope County for two years and then moved to Stark County and farmed south of Belfield until they built their home in Billings County where they still live. Roger liked to travel, read and he enjoyed his 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He drove school bus for 20 years and truly loved children. Roger served on the Billings County School Board for 15 years, Southwest Grain Equity for several years, Belfield and South Heart Farmers Union Oil for six years and Southwest Water for seven years.
Roger is survived by his wife Maggie; children, Robert (Deb), Belfield, Mark (Denise), Dickinson, Della (Tony) Haider, West Fargo, Tammy (George) Hurt, South Heart; grandchildren, Jason Hewson, Fargo, Nicole Hewson, Fargo, Koral (Jeff) Vicker, Fargo, Ray and Toni Haider, Fargo, Amy and Matt Hewson, Belfield, Valerie, Craig and Scott Buckman, South Heart; great grandchildren, Treyton Hewson and Jaydin Decker; one thought of as a son, Jim Dennis, Stanley, ND; brothers, Harvey (Donna), New England, Lee (Shirley), New England, Roy (Fern), New England, Dewey (Sadie), Alamo, ND; sisters, Earlene Schuhrke, Clawson, Michigan, Bev (Dave) Medalen, Willow City, ND, Sherryl (Rod) Ladson, Rosebud, Mont., Vivian (David) Dinius, New England, Rita (Don) Ehrmantrout, Bowman and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and brother-in-law, Ed Schuhrke.
