The son of Henry Felix & Catherine (Fehler) Kreiser, in 1860 he was living with his farming family in Union Township, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. He married Catharine Wagner May 1, 1862, in Hummelstown, Dauphin County, and fathered the children you see linked below.
A Civil War veteran, he served two terms of service:
1. Enlisted at the overstated age of twenty-one in Hummelstown August 2, 1862, mustered into federal service at Harrisburg August 9 as a corporal with Co. C, 127th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company May 29, 1863.
2. Enlisted at the stated age of twenty-two in Harrisburg July 1, 1864, mustered into federal service there July 18 as a private with Co. K, 194th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company November 6, 1864.
He is in both muster rolls as "Kriser," and his pension index spells it that way. Cause of his death is listed as a "cerebral hemorrhage."
