Revonda Johnson Greene, 80 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, March 26th, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on September 21st, 1930 in Newland, North Carolina to the late Hardy Johnson and Tishie McKinney Johnson. She was a retired employee of Gordon Garments Company in Bristol, Tennessee and attended the West Somerset Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was survived by one son, Garry (and Joyce) Greene of Somerset, Kentucky; one grandchild, Gary Anthony Greene of Somerset, Kentucky; three great grandchildren, Raymond, Revonda, and Varl Lee; two step grandchildren, Danny Lee (and Tabby) Picard of Somerset, Kentucky and Pamela Jean Picard of Somerset, Kentucky; two step great grandchildren, Carolina and Lucas; and special friends, Linda and Jerry Gibson, Jean Smith, and Bro. Larry Butte.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardy and Tishie Johnson; her husband, Varl Greene, whom she married on April 14th, 1949 in Newland, North Carolina; six brothers, Herb Johnson, Gern Johnson, Jack Johnson, John Johnson, Mac Johnson, and Colonel Johnson; and three sisters, Dorata Long, Sylvia Johnson, and Della Buchanan.
Visitations were held on Monday, March 28th, 2011 after 6:00 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 29th, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Larry Butte and Bro. James Barleston officiating.
A private interment was held at a later date at the Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset, Kentucky.
