Jane was the daughter of Joseph and Jane (Dent) Broady.

She was the sister of Thomas Broady, Mary (Broady) Collings, Susanna (Broady) Sharp, Pheobe (Broady) Collings, Joseph H. Broady, Asa Dent Broady Sr, and John Calvin Broady Sr.

She married John C. Collings on August 14, 1816 in Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Their children were Joseph Collings, Lydia C. (Collings) Follick, William E. Collings, Karns Hougland Collings, Zebulon H. Collins, Eliza Ann Collings and Minerva Jane Dent (Collings) Rose.
