Bethel Sykora-Albrecht, 97, of Lamberton, formerly of Westbrook and Windom, died Monday, March 28, 2011, at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.
Bethel Ardeana Sykora-Albrecht was born to Henry and Ruth (Neiderheiser) Marks in Grand Junction, Iowa on May 14, 1913. She was the oldest of six children and all preceded her in death. Bethel was baptized at an early age at Westbrook Baptist Church and graduated from Westbrook Public School in 1931.
Most of her life was spent in Cottonwood County, Minnesota. She and Claude Sykora were married on January 1, 1935, in Westbrook, Minnesota and became parents of Kenwyn, Jacqueline, Gail and Curtis. They farmed in Amo Township. Claude passed away on September 3, 1994. Grandson Randy Sykora and family have continued on the five generational family farm.
Bethel was remarried on January 4, 1997, to Walter Albrecht of Jeffers, Minnesota. Bethel and Walter have enjoyed fourteen years of wonderful senior adventure together. Bethel passed away on March 28, 2011 at the Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
Survivors include her husband Walter Albrecht of Westbrook; 2 children, Gail (Ronald) Toews and Curt (Marcy) Sykora of Rochester, MN; 5 step-daughters; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Bethel is preceded in death by her first husband, Claude; 5 siblings; and 2 children, Kenwyn and Jacqueline.
