Karolina was born February 18, 1839 in Baden, Germany. Her parents were Phillipp Vollmer and Barbara Wegmann.
Karl married Karolina Vollmer on January 23, 1860 in Diersburg, Germany. (Marriage permit No. 15126 issued by the Grand Duchy of Offenburg, dated December 31, 1859)
Karl & Karolina came to America in January 1873, arriving in New York on the "Holland" with Pauline (11), Valentine (6) and Theresa (9 months). Karolina went back to Germany. She returned to America arriving in New Orleans on the "Hannover" in May 1876 with Pauline (12), Michael (10), Valentine (8), Magdalene (6) and Maria (2).
By 1878, the family had settled in Milam County, Texas. They appear on the 1880 census. The family moved to Falls County, Texas and by 1910, the family had moved to Runnels County, Texas.
Karl and Karolina had 10 children according to the 1910 census. Only 7 were living in 1910.
Karolina died December 31, 1926. She is buried in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rowena, Texas.
