Born c.1750, American patriot Aaron Crowell fought in the Revolutionary War, and died "in his 64th year" in 1814. His brown sandstone stele is on the western side of the church, near the wall of the building.
His name is also listed on the D.A.R. monument just outside the front door of the church. This memorial, which was dedicated in 1931, consists of a bronze plaque affixed to a boulder, and honors the Revolutionary War veterans buried in the churchyard.
