Born c.1748, Amos Freeman fought for American independence during the Revolutionary War as a man in his late 20's and early 30's. He died during the spring of 1833 at the age of 85.
His name is among those listed on the D.A.R. monument near the front door of the First Presbyterian Church of Orange, NJ. This memorial, which consists of a bronze plaque affixed to a boulder, was created in 1931 to honor Revolutionary War veterans buried in the churchyard.
