A veteran of the Revolutionary War, American patriot Ebenezer Hedden lived to see the 13 colonies achieve the independence for which he'd fought, but died not long after the war's end, at about 39 years of age. His survivors included his father, Joseph, but it appears that he never knew his mother, Rebekah, who died the year he was born.
