Amanda was born in Scott Twp., Sandusky Co., Ohio. She was the eldest of six children who survived to adulthood.
On Sept. 14, 1895, Amanda and Charles "Burt" Bauman were married. They lived in Risingsun and had four children. In addition to those linked below:

Vera Ethelyn Bauman Hill, b. 1905
As a widow, Amanda took boarders into her home.
At the end of her life, Amanda suffered from a fractured hip and spent her last months at Bowling Green Rest Home.
Funeral services were held at the Trinity EUB Church with Rev. C.M. Moorhead officiating.
