Mabel was the youngest child and daughter of William Curror, and Amelia Gosman of Scotland, sister to William Curror Jr..
Mabel married John Thomas Fleming (Superintendent of Phila PA Post Office)on June, 1,1912. They had two sons John Curror Fleming born in Sept, 1913 and William M. Fleming born in 1915.
Mabel and John divorced in the 1950's. Mabel remarried Don F. Smith of Bucks county PA. Mabel worked at Whitmans candy factory for many years and enjoyed giving candy out as gifts to all her family and friends every year at Christmas. She was a kind, loving, and generous woman.
I never got to meet my great grandmother Mabel in person, but I remember her frequent phone calls as a kid and at christmas she would send money to us. My sister and I knew her as "Nana", we were always excited when she called. She also wrote letters and sent many pictures of herself, flower garden and her cats. She talked about coming for a visit to meet us all but sadly she passed before we could make any plans.My father remembers her visiting in his childhood, she brought gifts and was a great swimmer.
Mabel died in the hospital from a short illness, just a few days after learning of her husband Don's sudden death from heart fellure. It seemed she didn't have to will to go on without him.
Mabel rest beside her parents, husband, brother, son,and uncle in the Oakland cemetary in Philadephia.
