Ruby Steele, Teacher
-- ROCK HILL - Mrs. Ruby Whitlock Steele of 741 Green St. died April 28, 1993, at home. Funeral is 3 p.m. Sunday at Pineville AME Zion Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Eugene Goodwin will officiate. Burial will be in Barber Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 8 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home. Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Steele, a kindergarten teacher, was a native of York County. She was a member of the AP&B Society and a member of the deaconess board, stewardess board, missionary society, hostess committee and the dining hall staff at her church.
Survivors are her sons, Willie Williams, George Williams, Kenneth Williams; daughters, Mrs. Carrie Jeter of Charlotte, Mrs. Maggie Hardin of Clarksville, Tenn., Miss Shirley Steele; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
The body will lie in state beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
