ALBANY – The funeral service of Dorothy Yancey Hartley, 79, of 751 White Pond Road, Leesburg, Ga., who died Monday, November 5, 2007, at Lee County Health Care, will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at Thundering Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Calvin King will officiate. Interment will follow in Thundering Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of Decatur Co., born to Rebe and Mary Ellen Bowden Yancey, Mrs. Hartley had resided in Lee County for the past 62 years. She was the widow of Bud Hartley and was employed with Lee County Manufacturing for more than 25 years. Mrs. Hartley was a member of Thundering Springs Baptist Church and the Ladies Four School Class and was active in the R.S. Boney Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Hartley was affectionately known as "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be truly missed on the annual beach trip she had taken with her family for the last fifteen years on Mother's Day. Survivors include two sons: Leon D. Hartley and his wife (Patsy) and Terry Wayne Hartley and his wife (Chris); two daughters: Thea Thacker and her husband (Terry), and Sue Martin and her husband (Roger), all of Lee Co.; a brother: R.J. Yancey and his wife (Gladys) of Williston, Fla.; two sisters: Blanche White of Freeman, Ga., and Audrey Chitty and her husband (Monroe) of Gulf Hammock, Fla.; 12 grandchildren: Lee Hartley, Perry Hartley, Shelly Martin, Wiley Harrell, Chet Harrell, Johnny Harrell, Nicolas Hartley, Jeannie Hartley, Cameron O'Neal, Brittany O'Neal, all of Lee County; Robbie Harbour of Taylorsville, Ill., and Tarra Ealey of Worth County; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday (today) 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home, Albany 229/435-5657
