Death of Mrs. V. F. (sic) Brown
Her many friends were deeply pained to learn of the death of Mrs. Verne F. Brown, which occurred at 4 a.m. Monday, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Johnson, 502 West Charles street. The deceased had been ailing for some time and for the past six months had been bedfast. Tuberculosis was the cause of her demise.
Mrs. Brown, formerly Miss Hannah Johnson, was born on January 21, 1890, and was 31 years of age. On October 23, 1917, she was united in marriage to Mr. Brown in this city. Besides her bereaved husband, she is survived by her parents, two brothers, William and Peter Johnson, and six sisters, Mrs. Celia Larson, Mrs. Clara Richards, Mrs. Mary Peterson, Misse [sic] Carrie, Sophia and Hilda Johnson, all residents in this city.
Funeral services will be held from the Johnson home, 502 West Charles street, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. C. B. Harman, of the English Lutheran church, officiating. Interment will be made in the Grand Island cemetery.

The marriage of Miss Hannah Johnson to Mr. Verne S. Brown, of Missouri Valley, Iowa, took place yesterday afternoon at the court house. It was a quiet wedding, followed by a seven course dinner at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Johnson of West Charles street. They left last evening for Omaha and expect to go to Missouri Valley, Ia., to make their home. Mr. Brown is conducting a motion picture show there.
After Hannah's death Vern Brown , remarried to Betty ? and was listed in the 1930 census in Baker City, Oregon with his wife, son, Kenneth and mother Fannie.
He died in August 1970 according to the SSDI and was born on 30 November 1883
