Edward "Bud" Coughlin, 71, of Belgrade, died Thursday afternoon at his home of natural causes.
He was born April 2, 1924, in Casper, Wyoming, the son of Jack and Lucy (Craft) Coughlin. Bud grew up in the Big Timber area and attended area schools. He worked on the family ranch near the Boulder River and served in the United States Army Artillery Division during World War II.
He married Grace Mae Eik on May 1, 1954, in Columbus and worked at various jobs including driving an ice cream truck in Yellowstone Park and transporting cattle. In 1954 he began working for Yellowstone Pine Company, retiring in 1978.
Bud loved to fish, hunt, camp, and play cards. He enjoyed visiting family and friends, and time with his granchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Tom.
Survivors include his wife, Grace; two sons, Corwin of Belgrade and Kim of Bozeman; two grandchildren Shannon and Greg Coughlin of Belgrade; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Military honors provided by American Legion Post 19. Cremation has taken place.
