Mrs. Chester R. Wetzel
Mrs. Zula B. Wetzel, 77, RD4 Carlisle, West Pennsboro Township, died Wednesday in Carlisle Hospital. She was the widow of Chester R. Wetzel.
Mrs. Wetzel was born Nov. 13, 1896 in Cumberland County, a daughter of the late William E. and Sallie Sheriff Bear. She was a member of Greason United Methodist Church, the Ladies' Bible Class of the Sunday School, and had been pianist for the church and Sunday School for 37 years. She was a member of the Plainfield, Pomona, and Pennsylvania State Grange.
She is survived by a daughter, Martha V. Wetzel, RD4 Carlisle, with whom she lived; a son, Lonas L. Wetzel, 46 Fairview St., Carlisle; two sisters, Mrs. Abner (Margie) Shughart, Mount Holly Springs, and Mrs. Sarah Hoover, RD6 Carlisle; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the G. Book Roth Funeral Home, Walnut Bottom Road at Belvedere Street. The Rev. Colin J. Sheaffer, her pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Saturday evening at the funeral home.
