Charity's parents were both born in New York. She was recieved into the fellowship of the church in Babylon, Long Island at the age of 22 in 1826. Moved to Painsville, Ohio in 1839. She died at the age of 88 after a long life as a farmers wife.

"Mrs. Post has long been identified, doubtless from the time of her coming to this community, with the First Church. She united with the church in the era of its Prsbyterian polity, but has remaind firmly identified with its fortunes and changes in all its history since that time. Of late years, the infirmities of old age have made increasing inroads upon that active mind and body. But throughout increasing infirmities, hope and faith, and confidence in her Savior has never failed her; her last testimony, given only a few days before her death, beginning in the words, "The Lord is mine and I am His." Sometimes this regnant faith and hope would break forth into songs and hymns of praise, as as glad preludes to prayers and thanksgivings. Mrs. Post will be remembered by our community at large as one of the pioneers of our goodly inheritance; by the church of which she was an honored and respected member, as a worthy "mother in Israel.," and by her children and grandchildren as a faithful and loving parent, whose memory is "blessed." (Painesville TELEGRAPH of 1 March 1893, page 3, column 4)

Daniel and Charity has at least 12 children.
