William Gustav Julius Boehnke, the son of Carl August and Matilda (Dorow) Boehnke, was born on the family farm December 17, 1902. He was baptized, confirmed and educated at the St. John's Lutheran church and school. William married Mabel Margaret Roenfanz in 1929. To this union three children were born, Carrol Willliam, Margaret Irene and Paul Richard, who died when he was but a small chilld.
William and Mabel farmed until retirement when they moved to Garner. He remained a faithfull steward to St. John's and was always ready to offer a helping hand at the church in every way.
William passed away on February 1, 1972. Services were held at St. John"s Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery.
