Henry Thomas Williams

Henry Thomas Williams was born at East Friesia, Germany August 5, 1859 and died at the home of his son, Richard, near Allison, at about midnight March 29, 1928. His death was due to heart trouble. He became ill last June and several weeks ago his illness became aggravated which lead to his death.

He grew to manhood in Germany and came to America when he was 24 years of age. He came to Butler County and settled for several years in Aplington, Iowa and later moved near Allison. In 1891, he was married to Christina Leerhoff, and to this union were born two children, Richard and Mrs. Wm. Hummel of Allison. During the past year Mr. Williams errected a beautiful home in the north part of Allison, but on account of the condition to his health, he was not able to enjoy it.

He leaves to mourn his departure, besides his wife and two children, two sisters, Mrs. John Ihlenfeldt of Parkersburg and Mrs. Kobe Busch of Rock Rapids, Iowa; three grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Funeral servives for Henry Williams, old time resident of this community, were held on Monday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock from the home and at 1:30 o'clock from St. Jacobus Lutheran Church. Rev. W.C. Nassen, pastor, conducted the services. Burial was made in the Allison Cemetery.
