Passed Away Wednesday Evening at Allen Memorial Hospital. Had Resided in Allison Community Entire Life
Mrs. William Hummel, 73, passed away last Wednesday evening of carcinoma of the lungs at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon in the St. James Lutheran Church, with Rev. R.J. Niederwimmer, pastor, in charge. Burial was made in the Allison Cemetery.
Margaret Williams was born July 4, 1893 in Butler County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Williams. Her marriage to William Hummel took place on January 2, 1921, at New Hampton. They resided on a farm west of Allison until Mr. Hummel's death on September 28, 1946. Mrs. Hummel continued to reside on the farm until 1953, when she moved into her new home here.
She is survived by four children, Russell and Mrs. Charles Burma, of Allison; Glenn of West Des Moines, and Mrs. Paul Stemmerman of Cedar Falls; a brother Richard Williams, of Allison, and eleven grandchildren.
Mrs. Hummel was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
