KIT C. CRANE, 61, died at his home at 813 S. 21st St. Saturday evening after a long illness.
He was born in Clinton, IN, and had lived here 33 years. He was a painter and interior decorator 7 years.
Crane belonged to the First Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Pan American Quartet and was a veteran of World War I. Also, he was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Survivors include the wife Opal; 3 sons, Clifford Joe of Newcastle; James Robert of the Air Force in Rantoul, IL; and Glenn Evart Crane of Ball State College, Muncie; 3 grandchildren, Linda Joe, Anthony Dale, and Sheryl Gay Crane; 3 brothers, Cecil R. Crane, and James M. Crane of Clinton and Arthur B. Crane of Indianapolis.
Friends may call at the Main and Sons Funeral Home. The body will lie in the First Methodist Church Tuesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Services will be held there by Rev. J.T. Frost at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and burial will be in South Mound.
