Michael Rulewicz (later anglicized "Rulevish") died at the age of 103. Michael was born in Poland in 1822 and immigrated to the United States in 1878. In 1869 Michael was united in marriage to Helen Buyers. The couple settled on a farm south of DuBois, IL, and raised four sons and three daughters. Newspaper accounts said the following: "The departed was unusually robust. As a centenarian he sometimes helped during the harvest and at the age of 101 years he was still able to dig potatoes." A large number of individuals attended the funeral presided over by Rev. Father Panicki.
