Abner L. Exley

SPRINGFIELD ~ Abner L. Exley, 83 a native of Effingham County, died at his home, near Springfield Wednesday night after a long illness.

He was a life-long member of the Springfield Methodist church, having served in official capacity for a number of years. A Sunday school superintendent for 23 years, he also taught the Bible class for a number of years and served as an official of the Effingham County Sunday School Convention. He was a lay speaker and a church trustee.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Myra Pace Exley; four sons, Lawson Exley of Baltimore, Md., Dennie Exley of Savannah, Elmon Exley of Garden City, Irby Exley of Jacksonville, Fla.; three daughters, Miss Lucille Exley of Springfield, Mrs. J. R. Fetzer of Marlow and Mrs. Hilton Kight of Waycross; and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Leslie Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

SPRINGFIELD ~ Abner L. Exley, of Springfield, died at his home Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the Springfield Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. J. Kell Hinson, pastor and the Rev. Ernest Seckinger, Metter. Burial will be in the Springfield Cemetery.
The body will be at the Leslie Thompson Funeral Home until 3:30 p.m., when it will be taken to the church.
Pallbearers will be Paul S. Groover, Mell M. Exley, Milton H. Rahn, A. Clifton Exley, E. Kenneth Rahn, and Russell Pace.
Honorary will be Alexander Zittrauer, Howard Tebeau, G. H. Berry, Marshall Edwards, G. L. Rahn, A. E. Graham, H. Gordon Morgan, A. G. Kight, Dr. Ray D. Webb, Dr. Charles T.
