Homer Gray

Homer Gray, retired insurance and automobile salesman, died February 16 at his residence in Kosciusko. He was 65.

He was born at Bluff Springs in Montgomery County, the son of Marion Lay and Gertrude Lee Gray.

In addition to his wife, Douglas Johnson Gray, he leaves three sisters, Mrs. Marion Griffin, Mrs. Vernon Anderson, and Mrs. John C. Coleman, all of Vaiden. He also leaves a niece and a nephew.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, its administrative board, and the Methodist Mens Club, where he served as a Charter President.

In 1980 he was named Outstanding Layman of the Year by the First United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel on February 18 at 3 p.m. with the Reverend Charlie Wiggers officiating.

Burial was in Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko.

Pallbearers were Charlie Hawkins, Marcel Duke, Herbert King, Bill Jordan, John Reeves, and Norman Squires.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Men's Bible Class of the First United Methodist Church.
