Obituary - Maurine Cotterell Parry died at her home December 26, 1994. She was 87 years old. Born August 12, 1907 in Farmington, Utah, to Sarah Louise Oviatt and Joseph William Cotterell. Married Alva H. Parry, longtime general manager of Deseret Book Company, on August 14, 1928 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Active member of the LDS Church where she held many responsible positions over her many years of service including ward and stake Primary president, ward Relief Society president.
She is survived by her five children and their spouses: Robert A. Parry (Ruth), Joyce P. Smith (E. Rowley), Constance P. Faulkner (James Talbot), Douglas J. Parry (Linda), and Richard D. Parry (Judy); 26 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Two grandchildren and one great-grandchild preceded her in death: Adam Parry, Sandra Parry, Mark Smith. She was one of nine children, three of whom survive her: Elva Cotterell, Beth Stewart, Salt Lake City; Vera Leeper, LaCosta, California. Deceased: sister Leila Lundquist, brothers Newell, Cless, Sid and Don Cotterell.
At her request there will be no funeral. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 1995 at 10 a.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (Memorial Section), 3401 Highland Drive.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Primary Children's Medical Center.
