Artie Franklin Allred Jr., 89, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at his home, with his bride of 62 years by his side. Service: 10 a.m. Monday in Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Land. Memorials: May be made to a charity of choice.
Artie was born March 26, 1922, in Electra, the eldest son of Artie Sr. and Vivian Dillard Allred. He was a body shop manager in the automotive industry. He loved his family dearly. He also loved all sports, especially golf, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Artie was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings.
Survivors: Loving wife, Bennie Joe Inman Allred; sons, Joe Allred and wife, Joanne, Don Allred and wife, Mary Jane, and Frank Allred and wife, Dee; grandchildren, Jake Allred, Cameron Allred, Janis Allred Davis, Jeff Allred and Brian Allred; great-grandchildren, Hayden Allred, Declan Allred, Grace Davis, Gavin Davis and Liam Davis; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
