Obituary - Howard Allen Brown of Brookhaven died Saturday, June 13, following a long illness. He was 58 years of age, a carpenter and a son of the late Leverett T. and Ida Cochrane Brown of Bellport. Funeral service was held in the Methodist Church at Brookhaven, last Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. Harold Jones officiating, followed by interment in the Brookhaven cemetery. Mr. Brown leaves his wife, Mrs. Isabelle R. Brown; six children, Howard A. Brown, Ernest W. Brown, Walter R. Brown, Ellsworth R. Brown, Miss Idabelle L. Brown, and Miss Lona A. Brown, and two grandchildren, Wilfred E. Brown and Leverett A. Brown.
Mr. Brown was chairman of the Brookhaven Board of Education since 1922, and was a trustee of the Brookhaven Methodist Church and of the Brookhaven Cemetery Association.
The estate of Howard A. Brown of Brookhaven, who died June 13 last, is appraised at $7,196.69 gross and 6,773.69 net. He was a member of the firm of Brown Brothers, and the remaining two, Orlando and Robert L. Brown, are given the $1,000 life insurance policy of decedent while the remainder of the estate is given to Isabelle Brown, widow.
