ANTON BREITNER, RETIRED THRESHING OPERATOR, DEAD

Anton (Doan) Breitner, aged 87 years, passed away at St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo at 7:00 last Friday morning, February 16. he had been ill health fr the last three years and confined for the past five months Death was due to leukemia.

Born June 11, 1874, at Riga, he was a son of Peter and Louise Meyers Breitner. he had spent his entire lifetime in this vicinity and for many years operated a threshing rig, his steam engine pulling a seperator through town being a familiar sight. He later operated a saw mill and retired from active work several years ago.

Mr. Breitner was united in marriage in January of 1897 to Laura Heckel, who preceded him in death. he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rudolph (Ruth) Bollinger, of Lambertville, and Mrs. Oscar (Lillian) Weaver, of Toledo, one son, Richard Breitner of Petersburg, one brother, George Breitner of Toledo, and two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Adler and Mrs. Annie Silstorf, Petersburg, 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by five children.

Funeral services were held at the Valentine & McNeil funeral home at two o'clock Monday afternoon, February 19, C. A. Bormann officiating. Interment was made in Pleasant View Cemetery.
