Harvey Carrow, of Smyrna, Delaware, passed away on January 26, 2024. He was 94 years of age. He was born December 30, 1929, to Robert and Rowena Carrow, the youngest of 8 children.

He is preceded in death by his wife Mildred Carrow of 50 years, his daughter Charlene Hurd, son-in-law John Hennessey, daughter-in-law Sharon Carrow, and granddaughter Deborah Carrow.

Harvey will be remembered as a wonderful father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. He was born on what is now known as Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge. At the time it was the property of his father. Those who knew him best knew he treasured his family, and that farming was his passion and love. Since a small child, he had to work hard every day. He lived by and instilled in his children decency and hard work. He was well respected in the business community and by friends. He was willing to help anyone who may need help. Harvey was an avid reader; he loved to read boxing magazines and watch boxing on TV. He was a great historian and could tell you anything about history. He loved to dance and looked forward to seeing his many friends at the Lodge on Saturday nights. He loved hunting and trapping on his farm and passed down his passion for the sport to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children Roger Carrow (Bertha Mae), Joyce Hennessey, and Harvey Carrow. His grandchildren Bob Hurd Jr., Dale Hurd (Camee), Shannon Gerardi (Neil), Patty Carrow, Joyce Lynn Griffin (Ron), Lindsey Hennessey (Eddie), Leslie Hennessey (Christine), Billy Carrow (Kim), Eric Carrow (Angie), Tammy Munson (Dan), Alesha Carrow (Sheldon). Harvey also had 20 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

He was especially fond of the many cakes his friends Mr. & Mrs. Faulkner baked for him. Mr. and Mrs. Faulkner would always go out of their way to deliver to him regularly. He said they were the kindest friends.

A viewing will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 from 11 AM to 12 PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services with Pastor Keith Noel will begin at 12 PM. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna.
