Rachael Marcella Lamons Erickson, our beloved mother and friend, was carried away by angels on April 11, 2011 at the age of 81. Rachael was born in Graham, Texas and grew up there and in nearby northern Texas towns like Bridgeport and Olney. She graduated from North Texas State University with a degree in journalism. She was a dedicated educator for all her working life, first as a teacher and later as a counselor, after earning her Master's degree in education while working and raising her children. She was married to her college sweetheart Carl Rudolph Erickson Jr. for 56 years and is survived by her children Vance Erickson and Virginia Eileen Stuhr, her six grandchildren Paul Erickson, Julia Kenworthy, Kennan Stuhr, Carl Erickson, Austin Stuhr, Rachael Stuhr, and her two great-grandsons Charlie Kenworthy and Ronin Kenworthy. There will be a visitation Monday, April 18, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. and funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19 at 2 p.m. The visitation and funeral will both be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and burial will be at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
