Carl Chapple 84, of Streator passed away Wednesday May 20, 2009 at Lexington of Orland Park Nursing Home in Orland Park, Illinois.

Funeral services will be Saturday May 23, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Elias Funeral Home, Streator. Pastor Bryce Hays of the First United Methodist Church, Streator will officiate and conduct funeral services at Riverview Cemetery, Streator. Full military rites will be conducted by members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and Veterans of Foreign War Post 1492. Pallbearers will be members of his family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. at the Elias Funeral Home, Streator.

Born February 13, 1925 in Charleston, West Virginia. He was the son of George and Mildred (Busken) Chapple.

He married Margaret Jane Wise on June 6, 1948, she died in September 21, 2008.

He is survived by 1 son Randy (Catherine) Chapple of Orland Park, Illinois, grand children Andrew "Traci"Chapple, Carol Ann Chapple, and Stephen Chapple, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers Robert Chapple and Rex Chapple.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II serving on the LCI in the South Pacific.

He was a life member of the LCI Association and a member of the V.F.W.

He was a machine operator at Owens Glass Factory retiring in 1987.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Streator.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church, Streator.
